Cumberland County YMCA Appoints New Director of Human Resources

Rebecca “Becky” Humphrey has joined the Cumberland County YMCA as the Director of Human Resources, effective July 28, 2008.

She brings to the organization more than eight years of experience in all areas of Human Resources. She was previously the Director of Human Resources at Shalom House Inc.

Cumberland County YMCA CEO, Helen Foley said Humphrey was coming to the Y during a very exciting phase of growth and development to which her experience would be of great benefit.

“Although new to the YMCA as a staff member, she is very familiar with our work and mission having served on the Advisory Board for the Portland Branch of the Cumberland YMCA,” she said.

On her new appointment Ms.Humphrey said, "I am excited about joining the Cumberland County YMCA team. Through my varied connections with the Y, I have been impressed by the committed and talented staff and volunteers I have met. As the new HR Director, I look forward to doing my part to carry out the mission of this organization through supporting the leadership and staff."

Humphrey is a resident of Standish, ME and is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine’s Social Work program.
