The goal of Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV is to encourage and enable any individual with an existing heart condition to take charge of their life and learn how to live and lead a healthy lifestyle. Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation assists participants in completing either a one on one cardiovascular exercise program or group exercise program that meets individuals needs. One on one training offers an hour long session of exercise training with undivided attention. Our new group exercise program concentrates on building a healthy lifestyle through group exercise with others who have a common condition and offers great social support. A YMCA exercise physiologist will lead each individual through exercises working toward a goal of 30 minutes of continuous aerobic exercise, exercise bike, rower or recumbent bike. Time spent on cardiovascular equipment will increase each class during the 10 week program. Weight training is also included in the routine one to three days a week to provide a complete, full-body workout, and to reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Both programs offer support, a friendly atmosphere, and a phenomenal workout facility where the goal is to create a healthy spirit, mind and body for all! Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV One on One & Group Exercise Programs are professionally designed by exercise physiologists and special care is taken to ensure the health and safety of each participant. The participant's blood pressure and heart rate will be monitored constantly during all workouts.
